Welcome to Tahiti, the largest and most populous of the many islands in French Polynesia. As a semi-autonomous territory of France, you can speak both Tahitian and French in the country. Despite the name, there are football teams from other regions than Tahiti. Historically, the country's most famous player is Marama Vahirua, who also has French citizenship and even wore the French U21 national team jersey. After more than ten years, he finally accepted the offer to represent Tahiti in the senior category, which was celebrated by every fan in the country. The national team's top scorer is Teaonui Tehau, who dominates the TAHITI FIRST DIVISION scoring table every season. TAHITI FIRST DIVISION (1. level)
In this competition, in the first part, everyone plays with everyone once - the draw is random. Then, based on the results, two groups are made: RELEGATION PLAYOFF and CHAMPIONS PLAYOFF - each group has 5 teams. Both groups play in two rounds - home / away. The best team in CHAMPIONS PLAYOFF wins the title. The worst team in RELEGATION PLAYOFF is relegated to a lower competition, the second worst team plays an additional PROMOTION / RELEGATION PLAYOFF. It is played at a neutral stadium and only for one winning match.
TAHITI SECOND DIVISION (2. level)
This competition is played in two rounds - home/away. After the competition, the best team advances directly to the higher competition, the second-placed team plays a PROMOTION/RELEGATION PLAYOFF. The last-placed team in the table is relegated to the lower competition.
CHAMPIONNAT 3D (3. level)
This competition consists of five groups - MARQUISES NORD, MARQUISES SUD, MOOREA, RAIATEA and RURUTU. Each group has its own number of rounds based on the number of teams. Each group has its own stadiums where the competition is held. The best team from each group advances to the PROMOTION FINAL. This stage is played on a home/away basis. The winner of this stage advances to the higher competition.
TAHITI CUP (main cup)
In the FIRST ROUND, teams from lower competitions will compete. In the SECOND ROUND, teams from the highest competition will participate in the tournament, but they cannot be drawn against each other. This is followed by THIRD ROUND -> QUARTER FINAL -> SEMI FINAL -> THIRD PLACE PLAYOFF (neutral stadium) and FINAL (neutral stadium). The tournament finals are played at a pre-determined stadium, but only in the Windward Islands.
TROPHÉE DES CHAMPIONS (super cup)
The classic Super Cup. The tournament final is played at a pre-determined stadium, but only in the Windward Islands.
TAHITI U18 ELITE (1. level)
Youth competition which is played in two rounds and is played at home stadiums. The three worst teams are relegated to a lower competition. "B" teams from lower competitions can promoted.
TAHITI U18 EXCELLENCE (2. level)
This competition consists of three groups, divided by longitude. It is played in a two-round system at home stadiums. The best team from each group advances to the higher competition. In case a "B" team plays in this competition, the "A" team can be relegated and play in the same competition.
TAHITI U18 CUP
This is the same cup as the senior category with the same cup system. The tournament finals are played at a pre-determined stadium, but only in the Windward Islands.
TAHITI U18 SUPER CUP
This is a classic Super Cup which is played at the same stadium and on the same day as the senior category. The tournament final is played at a pre-determined stadium, but only in the Windward Islands.
