Welcome to Fiji, one of the richest island nations in Oceania, with over 330 islands, many of which are inhabited. The majority of the population lives on two islands - Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. It is also home to the largest football base of active players in Fiji. Let's take a closer look at the competitions below.
FIJIAN PREMIER LEAGUE (1. level)
The competition features 10 teams and is played in a two-round system. There are breaks during the season due to individual domestic tournaments. The winner of the competition wins the title. The team in last place is relegated to a lower competition.
FIJIAN SENIOR LEAGUE (2. level)
Information about competitionThere are two groups in this competition - Vanua Levu Zone and Viti Levu Zone. These competitions are played over four rounds. There are also two breaks during the season due to domestic tournaments. The best team from each group advances to the PROMOTION PLAYOFF in which the winner advances to the top competition.
FIJIAN BATTLE OF THE GIANTS (league cup)
Only the top 8 teams in the league standings at the time of the draw will participate in this tournament. Two groups of four teams will be drawn. The top two teams from each group will advance to the SEMI FINAL -> FINAL. All matches will be played at one stadium selected by the draw.
FIJIAN FA CUP (main cup)
There are changes here compared to the real tournament. This tournament is the only one in the country played in rounds. All senior teams will participate in the tournament. The draw is random. Only teams from lower competitions are drawn into the FIRST QUALIFYING ROUND round. This is followed by the SECOND QUALIFYING ROUND -> QUARTER FINAL -> SEMI FINAL -> FINAL. All rounds except the FINAL are played in two matches, therefore the teams' home stadiums are used. The FINAL is played at a randomly selected stadium.
FIJIAN INTERDISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP
This tournament features all the clubs from the country and is drawn into four groups. It is played in a single round robin format and the top two teams from each group advance to the QUARTER FINAL. This is followed by the SEMI FINAL and THIRD PLACE PLAYOFF / FINAL. All matches are played at a pre-determined stadium. Please note that this is a different system than in real life.
FIJIAN CHAMPIONS VS CHAMPIONS (super cup)
It is played before the start of the competition and consists of two matches at a pre-determined stadium.
FIJIAN NATIONAL YOUTH LEAGUE (u19)
This youth competition includes three zones - NORTHERN, SOUTHERN, WESTERN ZONE. Each competition has its own designated stadiums where the competition is played. Everyone plays each other twice. The two best teams from each competition advance to the so-called CHAMPIONSHIP. Here a new competition is played for only five rounds. The winner wins the title of the entire competition.
FIJIAN SECONDARY SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIP (u18)
In real life, it is only a couple of days tournament played in groups. In my product, it is a single competition in which everyone plays each other once. After the end of the league part, there is a SEMI FINAL to which the four best teams advance - 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3 system. This is followed by a THIRD PLACE PLAYOFF and FINAL. The winner wins the title. It is played in four stadiums only in large cities to add to the authenticity of real life due to transport and time. The default matches are always in the morning hours.
